I’ve had to take up indoor cycling since I have moved back to the US from the Bahamas where I could ride outside 365 days of the year. I found I could ride very long on my trainer until a fellow virtual rider suggested a rocker plate. What a game changer. Can ride twice as long and so much more of a realistic and comfortable ride. Returned to the Bahamas this week for a 100 mile charity ride and I am so much stronger. Velocity rocker certainly helped that achievement.
Well made and stable while riding. The balls are the only tricky thing about the setup but not too bad. Squeaked a little at first but some dry lube solved that.
I have a Zwift Ride and was looking for a way to make it both more interesting and to alleviate some saddle soreness that I was experiencing when doing 1+ hour sessions. I came across the Velocity Rocker and decided it was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve had it for over a month now and it both met and exceeded my expectations. 2+ hour sessions are no problem and the forward and backwards movement is a game changer. Bonus points for the owner being very quick to respond to my initial inquires as well as being extremely helpful.
I have had my Velocity Rocker since October 2021 and have 17,400 miles on it. It continues to perform exceptionally well. Owner Albert Knowles has been excellent to work with during initial purchase and with follow on questions about completing recommended maintenance. I’m so happy with my Velocity Rocker that I just bought a second one for my wife to use with her trainer setup.
I'm glad I spent the extra on this vs. something $300 cheaper that only has the left to right tilting. The back and forth rocking feels nice and I'm sure adds an extra bit of comfort and feel to it. Now I can go all out on Zwift rides for longer with the added comfort and sprint without feeling like I'm about to snap my bike in half (or tip over when I was using balance hedgehogs under my trainer).
What compels me to write this review is the rocker came preassembled with the pain cave lights and packed very well. I was expecting to have to assemble the Velocity Rocker and then add the pain cave LED lights, which would have taken a while. Nope! Velocity had the entire thing assembled with the LED lights on it. All you have to do is inflate the balls, strap your trainer and front wheel to the Velocity Rocker, and little sticky pads on the contact points.
I do recommend getting a pressure gauge either through Velocity or yourself because I did blow up one of the balls from overinflation. Thankfully, Velocity provides you a spare ball.
